Precision Stainless Steel CNC Machining, Factory-Direct

JUDA machines stainless steel parts to ±0.005 mm from our Shenzhen factory — milled, turned, and Swiss-machined, then passivated or electropolished and shipped with material certifications traceable to mill heat. Because we own the machines, you get factory pricing (typically 30–60% below US/EU shops) and honest DFM feedback on every quote.

Stainless Grades We Machine

303

free-machining austenitic; the go-to for high-volume turned fittings, shafts, and fasteners where corrosion demands are moderate.

304 / 304L

the general-purpose workhorse; excellent corrosion resistance and weldability for brackets, enclosures, and food-grade parts.

316 / 316L

molybdenum-added for superior resistance to chlorides and marine/medical/chemical environments. 316L for weld-heavy assemblies.

17-4 PH

precipitation-hardening; high strength and hardness after heat treat for shafts, valve parts, and aerospace hardware.

440C

high-carbon martensitic; hardenable to 58–60 HRC for bearings, blades, and wear parts.

2205 duplex

and 303Se, 416, 430 on request.

Why Stainless Is Harder to Machine — and How We Handle It

Stainless work-hardens fast, holds heat at the cutting edge, and is gummy in the austenitic grades. Machined carelessly it galls, warps, and burns tools. Our process controls this with rigid fixturing, sharp coated carbide tooling, correct feeds and speeds per grade, flood coolant, and stress-relief steps on thin or precision parts. The result is dimensional stability and a clean finish — no smeared threads, no heat discoloration.

Tolerances & Finishes

We hold tolerances down to ±0.005 mm on capable geometry, with general tolerances inside ISO 2768-medium. See our tolerances guide. Surface finishes for stainless include:

  • Passivation (ASTM A967 / AMS 2700) — restores the chromium-oxide layer for maximum corrosion resistance.
  • Electropolishing — mirror-bright, ultra-clean surfaces for medical and semiconductor parts.
  • Bead blast, brushed (#4), tumbling, and PVD coating.

Applications

Medical device housings and instruments, food and beverage equipment, marine hardware, chemical and fluid-handling components, semiconductor parts, valves and fittings, and structural brackets. For device work see our medical CNC machining page.

Quality & Certifications

Every batch is CMM-inspected with documented reports. We provide material certs traceable to mill heat, plus PPAP / AS9102 FAI on request. Systems: ISO 9001, IATF 16949, ISO 14001, QC080000. Read our full quality process.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which stainless grade is best for CNC machined parts?

303 for free-machining turned parts, 304 for general corrosion resistance and weldability, 316/316L for marine, medical, and chemical exposure, and 17-4 PH when you need high strength after heat treat. Send us the application and we will recommend the most cost-effective grade that meets your requirements.

Do you passivate or electropolish stainless parts?

Yes. We passivate to ASTM A967 / AMS 2700 to restore corrosion resistance, and electropolish for mirror-bright, ultra-clean surfaces required in medical and semiconductor applications. Both are available in-house with documentation.

What tolerances can you hold on stainless steel?

Down to ±0.005 mm on suitable features, with general tolerances inside ISO 2768-medium. Stainless work-hardens and moves under machining, so we use stress-relief and in-process CMM checks on precision parts to keep them dimensionally stable.

Can you provide material certifications for stainless?

Yes — mill test reports traceable to heat number come standard, and we supply PPAP or AS9102 first-article inspection reports on request. This matters for medical, aerospace, and regulated applications.
